Snam has always believed in the pivotal role of hydrogen in the transition towards a greener energy economy. Snam has committed to invest in hydrogen-related technologies and to adapt its assets to the new energy vector, as a boost to the decarbonization of its infrastructure

Snam acquired technological know-how for the delivery of hydrogen-related projects through the stakes of ITM Power and Industrie De Nora. Moreover, Snam acquired a minority stake in dCarbonX and Storegga, which are companies committed in the development of H2 and CO2 storage solutions in Ireland and UK

Snam has created a dedicated Decarbonization Projects Unit, which currently includes 50+ professionals in the sectors of Hydrogen and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). The team manages the Decarbonization Research Center and the HyAccelerator initiatives
